Just add T-Virus.
The Resident Evil franchise has graced consoles since the mid-nineties and in that time has introduced a whole range of twisted creatures. With the mad scientists that litter the series seemingly obsessed with pumping unwitting animals full of homebrew viruses.
Below are a five examples of Umbrella scientists rushing to get their work finished on a Friday afternoon.
1. The Zombie
You may find yourself double taking, having seen this creature take the first spot on the list. The zombie may be the most basic enemy encountered in the Resident Evil games that feature them, however that doesn't mean they are pushovers. In fact in groups, the humble zombie can become a formidable force; one that's usually underestimated.
While the games may have you despatch these monsters with little effort, the original Resident Evil 3 opening cutscene paints them in a different light. Zombies swarm like flies around their prey, their durable bodies shrugging off assault rifle fire and even grenades. The cinematic ends with the numerous S.W.A.T. and special forces members all dead, appearing to have stopped not a single zombie between them.

These monstrosities were aptly dubbed Hunters by the Umbrella scientists behind their creation, and it's easy to see why. These jacked Kermits are certainly not to be trifled with.
The Beta models, that appear in Resident Evil 3, are literal upgrades over the Alpha Hunters from the first Resident Evil.
These hulking green amphibian-human hybrids are incredibly agile, given their size and their large, clawed hands allow them to mince whatever gets in their way. Their thick hides allow them to soak up small arms fire too, making them a difficult opponent, even in one-on-one fights.
Those that decide to flee, however, are not guaranteed safety. Hunters will pursue stragglers, leaping after them with great ferocity. If they connect with said lunge, you'll soon see they can give one hell of a haircut.

3. Crimson Head
Entry one was silly; Zombies are slow, you think. I'll keep on my toes, score some easy headshots and everything will be fine. Well, like a moth bursting forth from its cocoon - the cocoon on this occasion being the walking corpse you just put down - the Crimson Head will appear to put a real dampener on that strategy.
Making their debut in the Resident Evil Remake, these undead athletes are effectively zombie 2.0. A phase two of the T-Virus infection that causes slain zombies to rise once more. Being considerably stronger and far more agile than their previous form. Their skin has also become blood red and large claws now protrude from their hands.
This side effect transformation makes them a truly intimidating encounter. One that's able to make you consider you actions, knowing supplies are limited. Remember, reanimation is guaranteed, it's just a matter of when. You may quickly find that you probably should have saved those last few bullets.

4. Black Tiger
Arachnophobia is a rather common condition, so the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team are lucky to not have any members that suffer with it. Then again, I'm surprised they didn't begin to suffer with it after encountering Black Tiger and her siblings.
Possessing the size of a car, you can know for sure that an all-fly diet would not satisfy this eight-legged goliath. Instead, with the T-Virus raging through its body, Black Tiger prefers the other, other white meat. With the discarded husks then left to decorate the lair.
At least you can be confident in the fact that she won't be hiding around your home. Her size makes it a challenge to get under the fridge.
5. Oscar

5. Oscar
The final entry on the list is Oscar, the undead elephant, and he is special for a couple of reasons. One, he's the only zombie elephant in the franchise. Two, he was unintentional. Umbrella usually decide what poor animals they experiment on however, Oscar became infected due to the Raccoon City outbreak.
This deadly giant shows up during the zoo portion of Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2, to inconvenience the characters during their attempts to escape the city.
He is a walking bulldozer, with slow but powerful attacks, and is incredibly aggressive. He is also persistent, merciless hounding anyone unluckily enough to cross his path. All that said, he can be killed, you just need patience and a butt load of bullets.
